Boutique is a media platform built on Folio CMS. The editorial team gets a structured workflow, the editor-in-chief gets a clear overview, and readers get a smooth paywall and shop experience. Everything runs from a single admin — from publishing an article to selling a subscription to shipping a print copy.
You choose what's behind the paywall — an article, an issue, a whole section, or an ad-free experience. Boutique handles the rest: metering, soft and hard paywalls, and automatic payment retries. Subscription plans cover monthly, annual and per-issue options, with multi-seat plans for business customers. Trials, gift subscriptions and discount vouchers are all included — as is a self-service account where readers manage payments and download invoices without contacting support.
Articles move through a status workflow — from draft through review to scheduled publishing. Each role sees and does only what it should. The audit log records every change with a diff, so you always know who changed what and when. Unpublished articles can be shared via a preview token — a proofreader or PR partner can open them without logging in.
Alongside digital content, you can sell physical products — print editions, books or merchandise — with variants, inventory and fulfilment. Print and digital subscriptions go into a single cart, so readers pay once. Supports payment gateways including Stripe, GoPay, ComGate, PayU and others.
Data that makes sense
Management sees MRR, churn and how many trials converted to paying subscribers. The editorial team sees which articles convert best and which authors drive subscriptions. Instead of guesses, you get numbers that show what actually works.
SEO and distribution
Structured data, OG tags, news sitemap and RSS are built in — search visibility doesn't require extra attention. The newsletter is integrated with the editorial system: templates, segmentation and scheduled sending directly in the admin.
